My name is Karina Medina, I am an Oregon Licensed Tattoo Artist specializing  in permanent makeup and SMP in the Portland metro area. My services include powder brows, lip blush, eyeliner and scalp micro-pigmentation.  I always strive to provide the absolute best service for my clients, from start to finish.  I love and appreciate all of the relationships I've built with my clients, and truly get joy in making them all feel as beautiful as ever! Ombre Powder Brows

Ombre powder brows is a tattoo procedure that gives you the makeup look of powder filled in brows. The beginning of the brow is lighter and gradually becomes darker towards the tail creating the beautiful ombre effect. This service is a two-step process and a touch up is recommended 6-8 weeks after the initial session to ensure they last the full 1-3 years. 

Lip Blush

Lip Blush is a tattoo procedure that enhances the color of the natural lips while improving their symmetry and shape all while also giving the illusion of fuller lips.  

Eyeliner

Eyeliner is a cosmetic tattoo that involves applying pigment along and above the lash line to create the appearance of defined makeup eyeliner.  The 3 styles of eyeliner offered are dusty eyeliner, classic eyeliner and lash line enhancement. 


Dusty Eyeliner is a newer, softer, smudged/slightly blurred effect rather than a sharp and precise eyeliner line. This technique could be popular for those who prefer a more natural or smokey eyeliner look. 

Classic Eyeliner is a bold defined eyeliner. No dusty/smokey shading. This style can be done with or without a wing.

Lash Line Enhancement brings out the eyes with a simple liner. This liner will stay in the lash line only. Going thicker and above the lash line will be considered and priced as a regular eyeliner without a wing. This style is not the dusty/smokey style and does not have a wing

Scalp Micropigmentation

Scalp Micro-pigmentation is a non-surgical hair loss solution. It is a tattoo that mimics the appearance of hair follicles, creating the illusion of fuller hair and/or a realistic hairline. This service can take between 2-4 sessions to complete, depending on the extent of hair loss.

PMU qualifications: 

-Must be 18+ years old

-Must not be pregnant or breast-feeding

-Must not have transmittable diseases such as HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis

-Must not have history of keloids 

-No botox/filler a month prior and after procedure date

-If diabetic, must have doctors note approving cosmetic tattoo procedure. 

-Please let me know if you have any skin diseases, heart problems or cancer. 

-For Eyeliner only- NO LASH EXTENSIONS. Please have removed prior to service. 


All services require a non-refundable deposit to secure your date and the remainder will be due at the time of service. 

Square deposit link will be sent to you via text/email upon booking. 


Rescheduling must be done at least 72 hours prior to appointment or new deposit will be required to re-book. Clients may only reschedule once. If needing to reschedule more than once, a new booking deposit will be required. 


Late policy- If client arrives 15 minutes+ late to their appointment it will unfortunately be canceled and new booking deposit will be required. Please be considerate and plan ahead of time with traffic as I have back to back clients. 


No extra guests or children are allowed at appointment. Translators are allowed if client speaks language other than English/Spanish.

Eyebrows

Ombre Powder Brows

Powder Brows

Brow refresher (Within 1 year)

Touch up for brows done within 12 months of your initial service with me. A non refundable reservation fee of $50 is required to secure your appointment. This will be applied towards the total cost of the service.

Brow refresher (Within 2 years)

Touch up for brows done within 24 months of your initial service with me. A non refundable reservation fee of $50 is required to secure your appointment. This will be applied towards the total cost of the service.

Foreign Touch Up

Brows done by another artist. Only book if you are happy with your brows and simply want them refreshed. Any new/major shaping or correction will need to be booked under coverup and correction. Cover up/Correction

Pre existing work done by another artist that requires major shaping /correcting.  Please email photos of your bare brows to info@xo-ink.com before booking. A $100 non refundable reservation fee is required to secure your appointment. This will be applied towards the total cost of the service.

Frequently asked questions

It varies per client but it takes about 3 hrs on average. The first hour includes filling out paperwork, consultation, mapping and shaping, and choosing a color. The last 2 hrs are spent numbing, tattooing, cleaning up the brows, and taking the final pictures.

It completely depends on your pain tolerance. We do the first pass with no numbing cream in order to break the skin. After the first pass, we numb and the rest of the session is relatively painless. Some clients feel a little bit of discomfort and others have gone through the process without the numbing cream with ease. PLEASE NOTE that if you are a frequent smoker or have your appointment during your menstrual cycle, the pain level could be intensified.

Unfortunately no, it is NOT included. We usually require the touchup to be done 6-10 weeks from the initial appointment and we can't guarantee that you (the client) will come back during that gap. Though the touch up appointment is highly recommended. Touch ups are meant to seal and lock color/shape of brow as patching can occur during the initial healing process. This is the PERFECTING SESSION. Without this 2nd session your brows will fade significantly. This ensures brows will last 1-3 years. 

It depends on different factors such as skin type, lifestyle, skin care routine, etc but all of our services last anywhere from 1-3 years after the touchup.

- Bring a photo ID

- If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment.

- You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape you desire.

- Foundation/Makeup, in case you want to touch up your makeup for the “after” pictures. During the procedure, parts of your foundation around the brows will be removed. 

- If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you must wait at least one year before considering this procedure.

- You must stop using Retinol 2 weeks prior to your appointment and avoid using it for the 2 weeks following your appointment.

- If you get Botox regularly please get that done 1 month before your appointment. This is to ensure we can make your brows as symmetrical as possible.  

- Avoid chemical peels at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment.

- Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 1 week before and after your procedure. Do not come to your appointment with a sunburn.

-Avoid waxing, threading, tinting 1 week before appointment

- Avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or any blood thinning medication 24 hours prior to your appointment.

- If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 10 days after the procedure due to the aftercare maintenance

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW PRECARE INSTRUCTIONS TO ACHIEVE OPTIMAL RESULTS. IF NOT FOLLOWED, IT CAN NEGATIVELY IMPACT RESULTS.

Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in color and more sharply defined. This will last 2-4 days. PLEASE DONT PANIC, as it is normal.

Swelling and redness is minimal with most clients, and will disappear within 24 hours.  In some cases, the treated area may feel a bit like a sunburn afterwards but there should only be minimal discomfort.

The complete healing process takes about 4 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 4 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 4 weeks that your touch-up/adjustment can be done.

Please note that final results can not be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and make any changes necessary. 

Healed results will vary with each individual client. Additional sessions (charged accordingly) may be required to obtain optimal results, although it is not common. 

- Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the tattooed area.

- No water on brows for 4 hours after appointment. After 4 hours clean with sterile water. (avoid soaking in water ex. swimming or sauna) when healing. When taking a shower make sure to put your head back so the water slides backwards and not directly on the brows. Ideally, we do not want the pressure of the water to hit your brows directly. 

- For normal to dry skin-Apply After ink ointment twice day starting the day after your appointment. Please stop using ointment once brows are fully done scabbing.  For OILY skin dry heal for 3 days, then start applying ointment. 

-NO scratching/picking the treated area to help avoid pigment loss/scarring.

-Quick face washing is ok. Avoid rubbing brows. Gently pat dry.

- No exercising/sweating for 3 days

-No tanning, waxing or threading. No makeup, eyebrow pencil, lotion, or any other facial products on the brows until fully healed(done scabbing

- Use a hat if you know you will be out in the sun for a while. Sun can significantly alter the color.

- Once they are fully healed, applying sunscreen on brows is recommended.

-Avoid botox until after your touch up appointment. Please let your provider know you had your brows done as botox does not always settle in evenly and can affect symmetry of brows.
